Words For Leaving

My poems and songs and snippets of thought.

I love the syncopation, cadence and timbre of word play. When I was in my 20s and 30s, after falling asleep, I lived a second life of dreams. These dreams were vivid and intense and want to stay with me into the waking hours. I filled many journals, scribbling down those colourful scenes.

Now, with little, and often irregular time to reflect and connect to that stream, I listen for the shape and form of those dream lines that break through. I try and capture them into what becomes my poetry. Sometimes the words are attached to melodies, and those ones become my songs. And, there are far fewer of those.

So, thank you for visiting my blog! I am grateful for your comments, likes, views, visits and even, constructive feedback – whenever you’re inspired.

  1. Private writing to public blogging takes much adjustment! I haven’t shared this on my blog, but I sure enough wrote blog posts and photographed for MONTHS before I ever even started a WordPress account – and then it was months more before I posted anything. Take your time. I’m still trying to get comfortable several months later…and in some ways, I hope I am not ever completely comfortable. One needs discomfort for perspective, I think. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂
